About this Groundfloor Gathering

Resilience and Emotional Self Regulation are skills that can be developed in a relatively short amount of time and can dramatically impact mood, mental clarity and overall wellbeing. Identifying areas for growth and creating an action plan for practice are the first steps.

This two-hour program is a highly interactive customized offering to help you come away with best practices and a specific action plan for building more resilience and self regulation, especially under pressure.

This workshop is led by Ben Schick, an Executive Coach and Somatic Teacher. Ben supports leaders to grow their capacity, navigate complex stakeholder environments, feel resilient and satisfied, and bring out the best in their teams.

What is Resilience?
Resilience is our way of bouncing back after difficult, oppressive and/or
negative experiences. It’s part of how we live through very hard moments or
times, and what can fuel happiness, connection and well-being. Resilience
brings back a positive imagination for the future, enhances creativity and
agile problem solving, and lets us re-establish both safety and connection. It
helps us feel more alive and perform at a higher level.

What is Emotional Self Regulation?
Emotional self-regulation is our capacity to recognize and manage our
emotional responses as they arise — especially under stress or triggering
situations. This can include stored emotional tension, rumination, social
anxiety, freeze/avoidance patterns, and sleep difficulties. It supports our ability
to shift ourselves from hyper-alert reactions —always looking for what’s
wrong, feeling afraid, burnt-out, and stressed— to a calmed and re-connected way of being.
