Salon 42 SF: How do we explore the world and filter information?
About this Groundfloor Gathering
How do we explore the world and filter information?
We’re constantly exploring the world: seeking interesting information, filtering what matters, and deciding what to share. In this age of a permanent waterfall of content and endless options to choose from, what drives our curiosity, and how do we navigate between discovery, overload, and boredom? Join us as we reflect on how we find, interpret, and exchange the insights that shape our understanding of the world.
We meet to collaboratively explore ideas from art to science to philosophy to learn about the topic and each other.
Our intent is to create a free, inclusive, and friendly space for connection and community based on ideas, in an environment that prioritizes listening and openness to a wide range of perspectives.
How does it work?
We choose a topic, share optional resources (video/articles/podcasts, etc.) and discussion questions in advance to establish a shared context, and then have a lightly moderated discussion along with potluck-style drinks and snacks. Expect some time to socialize before and after the official discussion.
