Know Me Better EP Release Concert & Party
About this Groundfloor Gathering
To celebrate the release of my upcoming Know Me Better EP, I'm throwing a release party and concert experience at Groundfloor.
We'll be turning the library into a music venue, and there will be fun little activities to bring the songs on the EP to life, including:
'Know Me Better' Reading Nook: The song 'Know Me Better' is about spending time getting to know yourself better and loving spending time alone, so we'll be turning the lounge into a little reading nook area. That way, if you're an introvert, you can still join in the fun and be a part of things. You can bring a book with you and hang here before the show starts.
'Empty Picture Frames' Coloring Book Station: The song 'Empty Picture Frames' is about loneliness and feeling like you have no one to put in picture frames. So we're bringing some adult coloring pages and colored pencils for you to zen out to before the show. Maybe it's something you'll love enough to hang or put in a frame.
'Half Life' Notewriting: The song 'Half Life' is about feeling like you're not living up to your expectations in life, despite working so hard to, and the depression that comes with that. So we're creating a 'take a note, leave a note' experience. We'll provide stationery for you to write a note of encouragement to a stranger, telling them something you have needed to hear yourself. After you leave your note, we'll have notes written by others for you to pick from. See what message someone else and the Universe have for you.
'Layers; Communal Poem Writing: The song 'Layers' is about how long it takes to heal. How it often doesn't happen all at once, but happens over time in layers. To bring that song to life, we'll be writing a poem together as a group. We'll have a poem being written in real time on the wall, and you'll have the opportunity to add a line of your own. We'll then read the finished poem we wrote together from the stage during the show.
To make the event bigger than me, accessible, and focused on community, I'm making the whole night donation-based and BYOB. If you can donate, that would be amazing, but it will be optional. I don't want anyone to not be able to attend due to ticket prices.
Whether you come alone or with friends, I hope the night is healing, and you will leave feeling a part of something.
See you there!! 💜
