Touch Matters
About this Groundfloor Gathering
How comfortable are you asking for the touch you want—or turning down the touch you don't?
Touch can be a meaningful way we experience connection, comfort, affection, and intimacy. Yet many of us find it difficult to ask for the touch we want, say no to the touch we don't, or receive another person's answer without taking it personally.
Join us for an evening of thoughtful conversation and optional exercises involving simple, everyday forms of touch-such as a handshake, high five, hug, or brief touch on the hand or shoulder-as we explore desire, vulnerability, consent, boundaries, rejection, and receiving.
Together, we'll consider how clearer asking-and greater freedom to say yes or no-can create safer, more authentic connection.
Participation in any touch is always optional, and choosing not to participate is equally welcome.
Whether asking for touch comes naturally to you or feels deeply vulnerable, you're invited to join the conversation.
A genuine invitation makes room for both yes and no.
