You know that state of mind where you forget about time and space and become completely focused on whatever you’re working on? That's called the FLOW, and it feels great but can be difficult to achieve consistently on your own. Through the power of mono-tasking, rituals, body doubling, and power breaks, we’ll reach the FLOW together, and you’ll be surprised by what you’ll have gotten done at the end of the day. So how does it work? We’ll have a series of 50-minute bursts of focused, mono-tasking work. Every burst will be separated by quick 10-minute breaks. After 2 bursts, we’ll have a longer break, where we’ll share a meal (remember to bring your own lunch) and socialize before diving into the last two bursts. Switching off notifications, focusing on a single task at a time, being surrounded by people doing the same, and not keeping track of time will help you reach the FLOW. Essentially, getting days' worth of work done in just five hours. Let's get those procrastinated tasks done and beat creative blocks TOGETHER!

Here is what our session will look like:

10:30 - 10:45: introduction

10:45 - 11:35: first rush

10:35 - 10:45: short break

11:45 - 12:35: second rush

12:35 - 01:05: lunch break

01:05 - 01:55: third rush

01:55 - 02:05: short break

02:05 - 02:55: last rush

02:55 - 03:10: outro

You are welcome to join for just one rush or stay for the whole session; we just ask you to enter or leave the room only during breaks to prevent distraction for the other participants.

Collective Manifestation

Let’s gather together for a collective manifestation experience! In this event, we will:

We encourage you to bring a journal and something to write with.

🌸 Sip & Yap: Honoring Women’s Voices & Stories🌿

An evening of connection, laughter, and unfiltered conversations.

For centuries, women have found strength in gathering, sharing stories, and supporting each other. In honor of Women's History Month and the Spring Equinox, a time of renewal and new beginnings, Sip & Yap is a modern take on that sacred tradition—an intimate evening where real conversations flow as freely as the drinks.

This gathering is about:

Deep, meaningful conversations—beyond small talk
Building authentic friendships in a warm, supportive space
Celebrating women and femme voices without judgment
We’ll start with a short reflection on Women's History Month and the power of storytelling, followed by breakout discussions and an open mingling session. Whether you’re here to network, share wisdom, or simply vibe, you’ll leave feeling empowered, inspired, and more connected than ever.

Sip. Speak. Be Heard.

Who’s it for?
Women & femme-identifying members looking to cultivate authentic, meaningful connections and friendships within the community.

Dress code?
Cute but comfy—come as your radiant self!

Drinks and light bites will be provided. Feel free to bring something small to share.

Looking forward to an unforgettable evening of connection!

Side by Side Pinot Seminar!

Alright, wine lovers—it’s time to hit the books (or rather, the bottles)! 🍷 For our 12th wine club gathering—yes, we’re almost a year old!—we’re bringing back the big long table and celebrating just how much we’ve grown.

But this time, we’re shaking things up. I won’t give too much away (because where’s the fun in that?), but let’s just say the title and image have already spilled a few secrets. Expect an evening of surprises, great company, and, of course, an incredible lineup of Pinot Noirs—my personal favorite.

Now, if you’ve ever wondered why Pinot is both a challenge to taste and a splurge-worthy indulgence, here’s the deal: this thin-skinned grape is notoriously fickle, demanding just the right climate and a winemaker’s delicate touch. It’s a shape-shifter in the glass—light yet complex, earthy yet elegant, constantly evolving as you sip. And because it’s so difficult to grow, it often comes with a price tag to match.

So, come swirl, sip, and savor your way through some of the best expressions of this elusive grape. See you there! 🍷

Dumpling Making Event

Join Groundfloor member Amanda Madany for this dumpling making class. She loves to share her Chinese culture by teaching people how to make dumplings!

Come ready to eat some pork or veggie dumplings and have some fun. All skill levels are welcome.

Please Venmo @AmandaMadany by 3/19 to lock in your spot - the $15/person charge will cover the cost of dumplings and light refreshments.

Dumpster Tags & Steel Slaps: A Graffiti Lettering Session

For the artsy members who want to experiment with graffiti lettering, play with letterforms, and get their hands moving. Woodbury University’s design students are rolling through, and we’re opening up a few spots for Groundfloor members to join in.

We’ll kick things off with intros, some inspiration, and the basics of graffiti lettering. Then, we’ll warm up with practice worksheets before moving to the real thing. Once you’re comfortable, you’ll get to decorate a miniature trash bin or metal container with markers and paint.

We’ve got all the supplies, but if you have your own markers or tools, bring them along.

There will be snacks, drinks, and a chill creative vibes.

Creative Mornings

CreativeMornings is a free monthly breakfast lecture series. We offer free coffee, breakfast, and an inspiring talk highlighting an artist, maker, entrepreneur or creative individual in our community! We’re part of a global network found in over 240 cities worldwide, and are entirely volunteer-run and supported by local businesses in Oakland. About CreativeMornings/Oakland To say we have pride about our Town is an understatement. You have either been here, or you have the desire to be here. But Oakland does not mince messages: to belong here is to make a promise to community.  Oakland is built on community. Creativity and collaboration are what brought the Free Breakfasts to the children of West Oakland, the endurance to the Occupiers, and the persistence to the Resistance. We understand that to live a vibrant and inclusive life requires a diversity of beliefs and backgrounds. We understand that to breathe creativity into the minds and souls of our neighbors it requires the joy and respect for others. Community is not a one way street. Thankfully, we love to share it. At CreativeMornings Oakland, we seek to elevate the voices of our community: the passionate, the freedom fighters, the change makers, the resilient, the honest, and the leaders—without whom we’d have no inspiration, for our community is our future.

You are invited to accept and celebrate every shape, size, curve, and ability in you and a room full of remarkable others for the sacred practice of sensual embodiment movement. In sensual embodiment movement, we can: Drop into self and notice parts yet to be discovered. Celebrate our beautiful bodies and spirits. Feel the invitation to evolve. Witness ourselves and each other in a beautiful, supportive community. Sensual embodiment is a freestyle movement where deep presence, playfulness, and desire meet simultaneously. On March 29, we’ll build a sacred container to get curious, hold our bodies in reverence, move in ways that bring us back home to ourselves...and have fun! If you’re curious about centering your own desire and what feels good to YOU, join us on March 29 from 5-7 pm! Please note that this is dedicated space for women-identified individuals.

What Does Belonging Mean to You?

We meet to collaboratively explore ideas from art to science to philosophy to learn about the topic and each other.

Our intent is to create a free, inclusive, and friendly space for connection and community based on ideas, in an environment that prioritizes listening and openness to a wide range of perspectives.

How does it work?
We choose a topic, share optional resources (video/articles/podcasts, etc.) and discussion questions in advance to establish a shared context, and then have a lightly moderated discussion along with potluck-style drinks and snacks. Expect some time to socialize before and after the official discussion.

Do you like basketball? Or friendly competition? Or funny college mascots? Then join us for this bracket picking event!

During the event, we’ll review the matchups in each of the bracket regions and then you’ll make your picks of who you think will win. Between the regions, there will icebreakers and time to mingle! There will be a competitive bracket pool (so you can brag about your stellar performance!), which will be $10 to enter, sent to Casie via Venmo. At the end of the tournament, the top 3 finishers will receive a payout (60% to 1st place, 30% to 2nd place, and 10% to 3rd place). Note: it’s not required to enter the pool to attend the event – you can come fill out a bracket just for fun!

Strike it big and you'll be cheering like you just hit the jackpot!

Doesn't strike your fancy? Bring your own game and we'll try to get you some players! Additionally, Groundfloor has a library full of games that we regularly add into the mix. Or just come hang out and have fun with us!

Fasting to Feel Good: Coaching Program

"The best of all medicines is resting and fasting." - Mark Twain

This event is for those who signed up for Fasting to Feel Good - please talk to Heather directly if you have questions or want to join after the information session.

Fasting to Feel Good is a group coaching program to get you started with fasting for improved health, mental wellbeing and to give you new found energy!

The program is designed to help you embrace fasting as a tool for better health. Every other week, we come together to learn more about our bodies, boost our motivation, and explore new ways to enhance our well-being through fasting.

Fasting is just one tool, Heather loves to share all different ways she has found that can bring us closer to FEELING GOOD!

Heather is a Registered Nurse who left corporate healthcare to help people find true health without medications. She believes in finding the root cause of disease and empowering her clients to connect with the needs of their own unique bodies. Heather harnesses the power of fasting and the transformative magic of psychedelic mushrooms (for those who are interested) to revolutionize the way her clients see and experience health.

Biohacking Club

Join Martin, an avid biohacker for many years, as he leads a monthly exploration into the cutting-edge world of biohacking. Martin's journey began with a simple curiosity about how to optimize his own health and has since evolved into a passion for uncovering the secrets of the human body. Each month, he shares his discoveries and experiments, from nootropics and fasting protocols to advanced wearable technology. Inspiration Club: Nature & Found Art

Discover the magic of transforming everyday objects and natural treasures into unique works of art. This playful and experimental workshop invites you to explore your creativity by breathing new life into forgotten items and connecting with the beauty of nature. Bring along those small, cherished objects you can't bear to part with – perhaps you're a collector of feathers, pinecones, shells, interesting twigs, or crystal beads. Gather yarn, ribbons, and other upcyclable materials from home. We'll combine these personal finds with natural elements and create something entirely new from what might seem like "nothing." Air-dry clay, wire, and glue will be provided to help you assemble your creations. Whether you prefer to work solo or collaborate with others in small groups, you'll have the opportunity to share materials and co-create collectively. We'll begin the workshop with a brief meditation and movement exercise to spark inspiration and connect with our creative energy. Afterward, we'll dive into the process of making, followed by a sharing circle where we can celebrate our unique pieces, focusing on the journey of creation and the meaning behind our work, rather than solely on aesthetics. Led by Marion, an experienced facilitator, creative arts therapist, and teacher with over 16 years of experience, this workshop offers a supportive and inspiring environment to unleash your inner artist. Free for Groundfloor members. Non-members can register here: https://www.theheartof.us/inspiration-lab

Interpersonal Club: All Things Co-Regulation!

Come explore and learn about all things Co-Regulation! What is it? Why is it important? How do we know when it is happening? And how do we know how to ask for, offer, and receive it? How do we co-regulate with boundaries? Is co-regulation always bidirectional? Is the goal of co-regulation allostasis, connection, both? How is co-regulation different and/or the same as presence, empathy, attunement, attachment, and resonance? What is the role of the social engagement network in co-regulation? Can we co-regulate ourselves? Is self-regulation just the memory of co-regulation? We will explore co-regulation and many of these questions cognitively, emotionally, and experientially, together.

Interpersonal Club is a space for members to explore, inquire, practice and deepen in understanding around the many types of relationships and connections in our lives. Through the exploration of interpersonal neurobiology, communication skills, relational resonance and coherence, co-regulation, empathy, emotional attunement, attachment, collective consciousness and more, we will grow our connections in real time and deepen our capacities for authentic and embodied relationships with our friends, partners, families, children, collaborators, and communities.

*A note about our club structure: Rather than centering consumption of content or replication of hierarchical group power structures, we will tend to center group process in Interpersonal Club, meaning that we will stay with the trouble of working/playing/exploring through any sticky or murky places that may come up as we learn to be in deeper community together.

DISCLAIMER: Interpersonal Club and its events and offerings are for enrichment only and are not a substitute for therapy, counseling, or mental health support groups.

About Jackie: Jackie is an Integrative Family and Relational Coach and is a relationally focused Occupational Therapist. She enjoys translating and applying macrocosmic concepts and principles to support client's lived experiences and embodied wisdom, all while remaining grounded in context and interdependence. Jackie works with people of all ages, guided by the vast and rich fields of interpersonal neurobiology, autonomic physiology, emergent strategy, sensory integration, panpsychism, dynamic systems theory, quantum theory, anthropology, and her boundless seeking heart.

Business Club (Connect + Collab)

Business Club is a monthly networking and peer mentoring opportunity for all professionals and creatives to connect, exchange ideas, and problem solve over their morning cuppa. The meetings are facilitated by Sophie Davies to ensure everyone has equal time to introduce themselves and ask for what they need. How it works: After introductions the group breaks out into smaller groups to allow everyone to share “an ask” through peer mentoring with your makeshift advisory board. “Your ask” can be a specific idea that you need feedback on or a challenge you need help with. This work-related inclusive club is for everyone who understands that while we tend to work individually, we regularly encounter the same work challenges and believe that collectively we are stronger when we support each other and figure things out together. These gatherings are limited to 20 people, so please commit to staying for the duration of the session.

Social Anxiety Club

Did you join Groundfloor with aspirations of vibrant social connections, only to find yourself grappling with a touch of social shyness and a tendency to get tongue-tied in when meeting new people?

Then, the Social Anxiety Club is for you! We embrace the charm of our inner introverts while fearlessly navigating the post-COVID landscape. Picture a blend of delightful awkwardness, welcoming smiles, and laughter.

Join us for light-hearted gatherings as we relearn to socialize. No pressure, just genuine, unfiltered human connection (with an optional side of anxiety-induced laughter). Let's break the ice and melt those social butterflies out of their cozy cocoons. The only requirement is a willingness to laugh at the occasional awkward silence. Join us and let the Social Anxiety Club become your haven of connection.

Rumi’s Field

Inspired by Rumi’s words, “Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and right-doing, there is a field. I'll meet you there.” This soulful gathering is the field where we meet.

This in-person nurturing gathering is for people seeking and exploring their inner lives within a supportive and facilitated group. Each group will have a different topic sparked by a poem or creative writing to ignite reflection and inquiry.

This month’s Topic will be Friendship.

I will spark our gathering with a select poem or creative writing based on the topic to explore your internal world. Poets and writers can make the invisible visible by transforming abstract emotions, thoughts, and experiences into tangible expressions through language. They illuminate the unseen corners of the human experience—our inner fears, dreams, and desires—by giving them shape and meaning.

There will be space to go within through meditation, journaling, and sharing. In our busy, 24/7 connected world, this is an opportunity to slow down and connect with our internal world and wisdom together. It is an opportunity to build both your internal and external connections.

Please bring a journal and pen for written prompts.

Michelle M. Olsen, MA, CPCC, a Career-Life Purpose Coach, will lead and facilitate the gathering. She has been coaching and facilitating groups for almost two decades and is driven by the idea that a more sane and compassionate world is possible, and it starts within. She loves working at the intersection of coaching, psychology, and spirituality.
