Sip, Reflect & Connect

= a casual gathering to slow down, do some inner exploration and be in community. Heavy topics are more approachable when we're surrounded by support, calm the nervous system, and learn practical ways to deal— a glass of wine or tea also helps ;)

For this month's installment: letting go of control. We’ll explore the neuroscience behind overthinking, why uncertainty is so intolerable, and ways to loosen the grip on outcomes. If you've attended the previous workshops, this one flows perfectly with our conversations of dating anxiety!

Because trusting the process is beautiful in theory—and mildly chaotic in practice 😌

What to expect:
📖 Psychoeducation & therapy tools
📝 Guided journaling
💞 Community connection (sharing is optional, not required!)
🍵 Wine & ayurvedic tea

Suggested donation $7-10
Venmo: @nirashah
Non-GF members can sign up via Eventbrite

Ultimate Werewolf Tournament

Join the Los Angeles Ultimate Werewolf Game Meetup Group for a fun-filled evening of social deduction games! This is an advanced tournament for people who want to try harder roles
Ultimate Werewolf is an interactive game (part card game/ part board game-similar to Mafia if you've ever played that) of deduction for two teams: the village team and the wolf team. Players on the village team don't know who the wolves are, and the wolves are trying to remain undiscovered while they slowly eliminate players on the village team one at a time. Each player receives a card with their role at the beginning. If it sounds confusing, everything will be walked through at the beginning.
Whether you're a seasoned werewolf player or completely new to the game, this event is perfect for making new friends and testing your wits against others in a thrilling game of deception. Bring your best strategies and alliances as you navigate through the hidden identities and attempt to uncover the werewolves among us.
Not only will you have the chance to play Werewolf, but you'll also have the opportunity to socialize with fellow game enthusiasts in a welcoming and friendly environment.
So come out, sharpen your skills, and enjoy a night of engaging gameplay and laughter with the Los Angeles Werewolf Meetup Group.

Beat Procrastination and Creative Blocks

You know that state of mind where you forget about time and space and become completely focused on whatever you’re working on? That's called the FLOW, and it feels great but can be difficult to achieve consistently on your own. Through the power of mono-tasking, rituals, body doubling, and power breaks, we’ll reach the FLOW together, and you’ll be surprised by what you’ll have gotten done at the end of the day. So how does it work? We’ll have a series of 50-minute bursts of focused, mono-tasking work. Every burst will be separated by quick 10-minute breaks. After 2 bursts, we’ll have a longer break, where we’ll share a meal (remember to bring your own lunch) and socialize before diving into the last two bursts. Switching off notifications, focusing on a single task at a time, being surrounded by people doing the same, and not keeping track of time will help you reach the FLOW. Essentially, getting days' worth of work done in just four hours. Let's get those procrastinated tasks done and beat creative blocks TOGETHER! Here is what our session will look like: 10:30 - 10:45: introduction 10:45 - 11:35: first rush 11:35 - 11:45: short break 11:45 - 12:35: second rush 12:35 - 01:05: lunch break 01:05 - 01:55: third rush 01:55 - 02:05: short break 02:05 - 02:55: last rush 02:55 - 03:10: outro You are welcome to join for just one rush or stay for the whole session; we just ask you to enter or leave the room only during breaks to prevent distraction for the other participants.

Healing-Centered Financial Wellness Series

Nobody teaches us how to talk about money let alone manage it.
This is a space to change that.

For the longest time I carried shame, comparison, jealousy, confusion and anxiety around money but worked relentlessly to understand and heal my relationship to it by talking with a variety of people (from stale pale male financial advisors to friends who had very little to friends who had a lot, etc) and actively managing it.
If you'd like to feel lighter around money and learn about it too, please join this small, intimate group for real talk, practical tools, and honest community around your relationship with money.

No shaming and no gatekeeping, just the conversations we should’ve been having all along. <3

Each session stands alone and builds on the others. We rotate through four core topics:

Rotating Healing-Centered Money Topics:
Money Convos — Let's talk about "it". Where did your money story come from? What's still running the show?

Money Audit Somatics — Getting clear on what's actually happening with your money (without the shame spiral)

Investing 101 — Just the tip :) Learn something, teach something, or maybe even make your first investment. Investing is a tool that should be made accessible to everyone.

Money & the Mind — Because the math is actually the easy part...
This is a revolving series — sessions repeat so you can join whenever you're ready and attend any 4 sessions that work for your schedule.

When: 1st and 3rd Tuesdays, 5:15–7:00pm*
Where: Groundfloor Oakland**
Non Groundfloor members may register at: https://luma.com/tuy025vj

Additional Notes:
Light snacks provided. Come as you are! <3
*Some dates subject to change
**Some sessions may be on zoom as needed

CAD, Design + AI

AI is rapidly changing design. In the process it's raising deep questions about what it means to be a designer, what it means to design, and what roles people take in their relationship to, and with, AI. 3D parametric CAD is the latest area AI is transforming. As it does so, it's going to transform the physical world. Are we going to drown in slopjects or get the world of personalized original products we've been promised? It's SF Design Week--let's discuss!

Poker Night

Join us for a beginners-friendly poker game at Groundfloor. Come to learn more about poker or take a shot at the prize pool. Players of all levels are welcome to join.

If you're less experienced come 20 minutes before the event for a quick lesson on how to play poker and common strategies.

We will be playing 5 cards Texas Hold'em in a tournament configuration. Players can only buy back in if they lose all their chips and within the first hour of the game. The buy-in is $20 and will be sent to Benj via Venmo. Blinds will rise throughout the night to keep the gaming progressing. Top 3 players payout (50%, 30%, 10%). The remaining 10% goes towards event snacks and drinks.

Salon 42 SF

We meet to collaboratively explore ideas from art to science to philosophy to learn about the topic and each other.

Our intent is to create a free, inclusive, and friendly space for connection and community based on ideas, in an environment that prioritizes listening and openness to a wide range of perspectives.

How does it work?
We choose a topic, share optional resources (video/articles/podcasts, etc.) and discussion questions in advance to establish a shared context, and then have a lightly moderated discussion along with potluck-style drinks and snacks. Expect some time to socialize before and after the official discussion.

Levity Night: Light, Loose, and Just for Fun

Levity Night: Light, Loose, and Just for Fun 🎈

What happens when we gather without an agenda to process, fix, or go deep?

This night is an invitation into something simpler: play.

We’re creating a lightly structured space to unwind, be spontaneous, and enjoy each other’s company without the pressure to “hold space” or make meaning of the moment. Think: video games, casual group games, trying new snacks, maybe an impromptu movie, or something unexpected that emerges in the room.

There’s no performance, no personal growth objective, no need to share anything profound. You can be social or low-key, join in or hang back—everything is optional.

The structure is minimal on purpose:

* A few starter activities to get things going
* Freedom to follow what feels fun in the moment
* A shared agreement to keep things light

This is not about avoiding depth—it’s about making room for another kind of connection: ease, laughter, and being human together.

Come as you are. Leave lighter. 🎈

Game Day 🎲♟️

>> Come play some great games with some great people. Bring a game to share. Learn a new game. Compete and cooperate. You know the drill… and the thrill. We’re not playing Sorry or Monopoly here. Think Carcassonne or Azul or Settlers of Catan. Not necessarily those games, but solid strategy games that exercise your mind, but leave room for lots of socializing between turns. Many games max out at four players. For those, we will divide into groups. And, for the big group games, such as Code Names or Wavelength, we’ll get the whole crowd together for a good time… and some good laughs. Stay late and maybe Cards Against Humanity will come out 😈 Question: Why game day and not game night? Answer: Nights are too short, people have a cocktail, and then no one has the energy to learn a new game. Are you game?? Sign up now!
